Even though I've long known that there aren't any songs that are too difficult for her to sing, but after watching this performance I was really shocked. 今天去了新竹的誠正中學,專門收容矯正少年犯的地方,他們大部份都來自於單親,弱勢或是新移民的家庭,比起相對幸福的我們需要更多的愛和包容才能讓他們重新走回正途
謝謝朋友的媽媽,同時也是裡面講課的一位師姐給了我這個機會,讓我可以認識這群曾經誤入歧途的孩子,當我聽著他們興奮的唱著我還是愛著你和射手,看著他們熱情的拿著烘培課剛做好的蜜糖吐司,眼前不再是一個個桀驁不遜的迷失靈魂,而是一群期待重生的年輕人
裡面有幾位會玩樂器的同學組了一個樂團,當初師姐原本是希望我可以當客座老師分享經驗,但聽聞他們在十月初有個成果發表,剛好缺了一個keyboard手,所以我就毛遂自薦加入了,接下來的兩個多月會固定去和他們練團,其中有兩位團員在十月底就要離開學校重新回到社會,希望可以幫助他們在結業之前一起完成一場可以回憶一輩子的熱血演出,新挑戰,加油!
I visited Chengjheng High School in Hsinchu today, it's a place that specialises in taking in and correcting juvenile delinquents. Most of them come from single-parent or low income families or are new emigrants. Compared to those of us who are blessed, they require more love and acceptance to be able to get back on the right path in life.
I'm thankful to my friend's mother, who lectures there and is also my senior, for giving me this opportunity, to be able to get to know this group of kids who were once led astray. As I listened to them singing "I Still Love You" and "Marksman" excitedly, and watched them enthusiastically holding on to the honey toast they had just made in baking class, what I saw before me was no longer a bunch of unruly, lost souls, but a group of youngsters who were looking forward to a brand new life.
A few of the students who could play instruments formed a band in the school. Initially, my senior had hoped that I could be a guest lecturer and share my experiences, but after hearing that they would be having a results review in early October, and they happened to lack a keyboardist, as such, I volunteered to join them. For the next two months I will be going there regularly to practise with them. Two of their members will be leaving the school to reintegrate back into society at the end of October, so I hope that I can help them to put on a hot-blooded performance which they can remember for life before they leave. To a new challenge, jiayou!
