Also, as is customary for the Chinese (or Lunar) New Year, people greet each other with special greetings in this period and this can be seen in Ah Xiang's last sentence. The greetings are sometimes tailored to include the character - or rather, sound of - the zodiac animal of the year, e.g. the lamb, for this year.
