Rock band Magic Power performed an acoustic version of「Going Back In Time」and gave a drum performance today, hoping to inspire strength in everyone, and also announcing that they would be donating NTD 500,000 to the「81 Gas Pipeline Explosion (Rebuilding) Project」.
Magic Power is composed of members Ting ting, Ga ga, Kai kai, Goo goo, Leibao and Ah Xiang. Their new album「Fighting For Love」will be released on the 19th, & for their pre-order autograph session held this afternoon in Ximending, Taipei, a last minute modification was made to their set-list, where they opened the performance with a heart-warming, acoustic version of「Going Back In Time」. Following that, the six of them went down from the stage to play on「War Drums」, and the sound of the drums reverberated throughout the entire venue.
Ting Ting and Ah Xiang lived in Kaohsiung when they were young, and Ting Ting revealed that he felt really upset after reading the news about the pipeline explosions in Kaohsiung. As such, other than making a donation, Magic Power also wanted to put what they're good at - music - to good use, which was why they chose to sing「Going Back In Time」, hoping that everyone would be able to cherish their loved ones. And at the same time, they also dedicated the song to all the Kaohsiung people (friends), to give them energy.
For Ah Xiang, he raised a point saying that, "If you have friends or relatives staying at Kaohsiung, please make a phone call or send a text message to let them know that the whole of Taiwan is united as one" and also called on everyone to help in their own way - those with money should donate & those with the strength to work should help with disaster relief. Goo goo expressed, that with everyone's sweat and tears irrigating the land, there would no need to be worried or afraid, as Taiwan would definitely be able to recover & get up on her feet again.
Kai kai said that he was so upset after reading the news about the Kaohsiung gas pipeline explosion that he cried and immediately gave his Mum a hug, mentioning that he would treasure every single moment spent with his family even more. And as for Ga ga, he hopes that everyone would be able to approach each day with a positive attitude, and to cherish the people, situations and objects in their lives properly.
Lastly, Magic Power mentioned that, taking their fans' safety and emotions into consideration, they have decided to postpone their pre-order autograph session at Kaohsiung Dream Mall, which was initially scheduled for the 10th. However, Kaohsiung is a place with a lot of compassion, and with everyone sending their love to Kaohsiung, (the reporter) believes that Kaohsiung would definitely be able to recover in no time.
